MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) — The Minnesota Vikings had a busy weekend with training camp in Mankato as they get ready for their first preseason game this Sunday.

Saturday was also Family Day for the Vikings in Mankato, and they made an interesting choice on how to promote it. The organization highlighted the day with a picture on Twitter of Adrian Peterson kissing his son.

The Vikings have been working to restore Peterson’s public image after he played in just one game last year after the fallout of an off-the-field child abuse case involving his 4-year-old son. He ultimately reached a plea deal in court and was suspended by the NFL for the second half of the season.

Peterson recently agreed to restructure his contract with the Vikings, which likely means he’ll finish his NFL career with Minnesota. The Vikings travel to Canton, Ohio, to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Hall of Fame Game on Sunday.
