Siblings Fall 15 Feet From Tram On The St. Croix River

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A tram along the St. Croix River malfunctioned Wednesday afternoon, ejecting a 9-year-old girl and her 21-year-old brother.

The siblings free fell 15 feet and were seriously injured.

The private property tram is used to take people from atop the bluff near Houlton, Wisconsin, down to the river.

Rescuers used boats to reach the man and girl, and they were taken first to Wolf Marina in Stillwater and then to Regions Hospital.

The siblings were both conscious at the time of the rescue.
