MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man impersonating a sheriff’s deputy has been calling Washington County residents and threatening to arrest them if they don’t pay fines or tickets by phone with pre-paid credit cards.
The scammer has been using a phone spoofing number that shows on caller ID as coming from the county sheriff’s office records line.
