Open Streets Franklin Avenue

Open Streets continues on Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis. This Sunday, walk, bike, shop, listen to music and win prizes all along Franklin Avenue. The street will be closed from Portland Avenue to 28th Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The event is free.

Antique Boat Show Bayport Marina

Enjoy a antique and classic boat show at Bayport Marina on Saturday, Aug. 15.  The sixth annual boat show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s free to attend. If you’d like to enter your boat, it’s $35. Stay for the Rock the Dock concert in the evening. Tickets for the concert start at $10.

Blues, Brews N BBQs!

It’s the annual Blues, Brews n BBQs in the northwest suburbs! Head to Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Plymouth for food and music. Tickets are $15. Proceeds benefit Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and PRISM.

Borough Block Park

Still haven’t checked out the North Loop’s trendy restaurant Borough? Sunday is your chance. Borough is hosting a block party serving up Parlour burgers, ribs and corn on the cob. There will also be live music. Tickets are $7.

Star Trek Pub Crawl

Finally, brush up on your Klingon, you’ll need it for the Star Trek pub crawl. Join the rest of the Trekkies Saturday and visit all the favorite bars in northeast Minneapolis.

And if you want to get your weekend started early there is a fun event Thursday. Every Thursday throughout August, the Walker Art Center is hosting free fashion shows! The show takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Garden Terrace Room and Terraces.
