Study: Low Fat Diets Better For Shedding Body Fat

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – People seem to have strong views when it comes to which type of diet works best for losing a few pounds.

Now, new research shows a diet low in fat seems to beat a diet low in carbs for losing body fat.

The researchers tracked weight loss among 19 obese adults.

They found that people in the study lost about three ounces of fat per day, on average, when they were on a low-fat diet for six days.

The same people lost nearly two ounces of fat per day on a low-carb diet during the same amount of time.

However, the researchers say it's too early to say which diet people should use to lose weight.
