Miguel Concert Switched To State Theater After First Avenue Ceiling Collapse

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- People going to the Miguel concert Saturday night got the chance to enjoy his music at the State Theater instead of First Avenue.

This is after a part of the ceiling fell on top of people inside the Minneapolis club Wednesday night. Three people had to be hospitalized. The sold out Miguel show went on as planned, but was moved to the State Theater.

We talked to some people going to that concert.

"Not being at First Avenue probably hurts more for the artist. You do lose a little bit of the intimacy and I can also sit and rest my feet," concert-goer Erica Hayes said.

Meanwhile, parts of First Avenue were open Saturday night. The Depot Tavern is back open and the Seventh Street Entry, which is a smaller concert venue in the same building, also hosted a show Saturday night.
