Twin Cities Couple Says 'I Do' On WCCO-TV Rooftop

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Wedding bells were ringing on the WCCO-TV rooftop Saturday afternoon.

Heather Eckman and Alexander LaCroix tied the knot Saturday on the WCCO rooftop despite the hot and humid conditions. The location is special because it's the same place Heather's Mom said "I do" 18 years ago this September.

Here are some pictures of Heather and her mom at her mom's wedding back in 1997. That wedding featured a little extra excitement when the ring bearer pulled the fire alarm -- and the fire department evacuated the entire station.

No word on whether the ring bearer was invited back for Saturday's ceremony.

The WCCO-TV rooftop is often used for outdoor cooking segments and for newscasts on Top 10 Weather days, but it's just the second time a wedding ceremony has been performed on the downtown Minneapolis rooftop.
