Firefighters Help Occupants In Wheelchairs Out Of Burning Mpls. House

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Firefighters in Minneapolis helped two people in wheelchairs get out of a house Monday afternoon after its back porch caught fire.

The Minneapolis Fire Department said crews helped the two people after a fire was reported in a home on the 1500 block of Washburn Avenue North.

The two people helped out of the house suffered possible smoke inhalation, fire officials said.

According to the department's Twitter feed, it took only a few minutes for firefighters to knock down the flames and clear the house.

No firefighters were injured while battling the fire, which remains under investigation.
