MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A stalled semi truck on Interstate 494 caused a traffic nightmare for dozens of commuters in the west metro Friday evening.

The snarl happened at about 6:45 p.m. on southbound I-494 at Highway 55 in Plymouth, and stretched all the way up through Maple Grove to the I-94/I-494 split.

MnDOT closed southbound I-494 between Hwy 55 and Rockford Road for about a half hour. The stall was cleared by 7:30 p.m.
