Crash Involving School Bus Leaves 2 Dead In Western Wisconsin

CUMBERLAND, Wis. (WCCO) -- Two people are dead after a car collided with a school bus in western Wisconsin Saturday afternoon, according to the Barron County Sheriff's Office.

The accident happened at around 2:35 p.m. near the intersection of County Road B and Highway 63, just northeast of Cumberland. Authorities say the bus struck the driver's side of the car on Hwy 63 after the car failed to stop while traveling west on County Road B.

The two people killed in the crash were the driver and passenger of the car, according to reports from the Sheriff's Office. A third passenger in the care was critically injured and is currently at Regions Hospital.

The school bus, which was transporting the Spooner High School volleyball team, ended up in a ditch, with all occupants only reporting minor injuries.
