Here’s a look at the four things you need to know for Sunday, Aug. 23.

Number 1: Maple Grove Theater Shooting

Police in the northwest Minneapolis suburb are investigating a shooting that took place outside a movie theater Saturday night.

Someone shot two people in the parking lot of the AMC theater in the Arbor Lakes shopping center just before 10 p.m.

The two victims were found at a Wendy’s in Brooklyn Park.

Police say the public is not in danger.

Number 2: Americans Killed In Afghanistan

Officials say two civilian contractors were killed while working in Afghanistan.

They died when a suicide car bomber attacked a NATO convoy in Kabul.

At least 12 people died in that attack and 67 were hurt.

Number 3: Americans Hailed As Heroes

Three Americans helped disarm a gunman on a train in Belgium.

After the gunman opened fire on the passenger train and injured three people, the Americans, a French citizen and a British businessman all stepped in to subdue the gunman.

The gunman fought back and his AK-47 went off, but the men were quickly able to get him under control.

The gunman allegedly belonged to the radical Islamist movement and was on a French security watch list.

The three Americans are childhood friends.

Number 4: Another Preseason Win For The Vikings

Saturday’s win over the Raiders came after a weather delay that lasted about an hour.

Fans were ordered to evacuate TCF Bank Stadium and go to the basketball and hockey arenas across the street.

The Vikings later went on to beat Oakland and quarterback Christian Ponder 20 to 12.
