Mpls. Artist Made Work For Banksy's 'Dismaland'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An artist from Minneapolis was one of fewer than 60 selected from across the world to create art for renowned graffiti artist Banksy and his new "Dismaland," a mock theme park located on the coast of southern England.

Brock Davis was tapped to make 18 pieces for the anti-Disneyland "bemusement park," which opened over the weekend to mixed reviews.

Other artists with works in the park include Damien Hirst and Jenny Holzer. Dismaland runs for five weeks, until late September.

Davis, a creative director at the Minneapolis ad agency space150, is an award-winning artist and designer. He's contributed work to The New York Times and Wired Magazine, designed a Target line of T-shirts for kids, and he's got tens of thousands of followers on Flickr, Instagram and Tumblr.
