State Patrol: Hermantown Man Arrested In Wis. For 6th OWI Offense

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 56-year-old Hermantown man was arrested Sunday night in western Wisconsin for operating a motor vehicle under the influence for the sixth time, according to the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Authorities stopped Randall James Johnson at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday by a Wisconsin state trooper after he was spotted failing to yield from a stop sign at the intersection of 12th and Hammond Avenues in Superior, Wis. Field sobriety tests were administered, and Johnson was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant, his sixth offense.

Authorities say Johnson refused a blood test and they obtained a warrant for an evidentiary blood test. He was booked into the Douglas County Jail and was also cited for failing to yield from a stop sign and operating a motor vehicle with no valid driver's license.

The case remains under investigation.
