Patrol: Wis. Man Arrested For OWI For 5th Time

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 45-year-old man from northwestern Wisconsin was arrested Sunday night for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, fifth offense.

The Wisconsin State Patrol stopped a vehicle at about 5:30 p.m. being driven by the suspect, identified as Robert Truitt, because he and his passengers were not wearing seat belts. Truitt was arrested at the scene for operating while intoxicated, fifth offense.

Authorities say his driver's license had also been revoked due to a previous operating while intoxicated offense. He was taken to Rusk Co. Memorial Medical for a blood draw and then transported to the Rusk Co. Jail.

The State Patrol says there were three adults with him in the vehicle at the time. Pruitt was also cited for operating while revoked, open intoxicants in motor vehicle, not carrying vehicle insurance and failure to fasten seat belt. The incident is under investigation.
