Dayton: "Not A Shred Of Evidence" To Warrant Planned Parenthood Investigation

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Gov. Mark Dayton says he will not order an investigation into medical practices at Planned Parenthood Minnesota.

Hundreds of anti-abortion protesters demanded a state investigation outside the Governor's Residence Wednesday. The protest comes after a series of undercover videos purported to show the organization sold fetal tissue for profit.

The Governor said Thursday there's no evidence to support the claim.

"There's not a shred of evidence to implicate Planned Parenthood Minnesota in what they're being accused of," Gov. Dayton said. "I'm not going to call for an investigation. If we investigate everybody every time somebody says something about them, we'd be investigating everybody all over the state for no reason at all."

Planned Parenthood Minnesota says it has never had a fetal tissue donation program, and does not have one now.
