Study Finds Diet Soda Drinkers Eat More Unhealthy Foods

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Think drinking diet soda is helping you be healthier? Think again.

New research shows we're not saving as many calories as we think drinking diet sodas due to the food we choose to drink it with.

The new study found people who drink diet soda also tend eat more high calorie foods, like chips, cookies and ice cream.

However, the study found this trend wasn't just true with soda. According to the study, coffee drinkers also ate more unhealthy foods.

Researchers said if you want to eat healthy, consider what you drink in relation to your eating habits.
