MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — An effort to clean up a popular Twin Cities lake is underway Saturday.

Dozens of volunteers will comb the beaches and shoreline of Lake Minnetonka to pick up all the trash left behind from a busy summer of boating.

They will also hand out garbage bags at boat launches to encourage boaters to recycle.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, and registration is at Lord Fletcher’s.

There will also be a free concert and breakfast for all volunteers.
