State Patrol: Pedestrian Hit By Off-Duty Wright Co. Deputy Near Clearwater

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by an off-duty Wright County sheriff's deputy Tuesday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the incident happened at about 6:11 a.m. on County Road 75 east of Highway 24, which is near Clearwater in Wright County.

Authorities say 31-year-old Nicholas Eldred was in a marked squad car when he sideswiped 48-year-old Jason Reever, who was running eastbound on CR 75.

Reever was taken by ambulance to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Eldred was not injured. Both men are from Clearwater.
