MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — From the second day of the Pope’s visit to the Lynx facing the defending WNBA champions, here are the four stories to know for Thursday, Sept. 24.

Pope Visit (Day 2)

There’s another historic day ahead for Pope Francis.

He will deliver the first-ever papal address to a joint meeting of Congress at 9 a.m. and is expected to address climate change and immigration.

Francis then leaves for New York Thursday afternoon.

Lynx Vs. Mercury

The top-seeded Minnesota Lynx head to their fifth straight conference finals.

After bouncing back from the brink of elimination in the semi-finals, the Lynx kick off a best of three-game series Thursday night against defending WNBA champions — the Phoenix Mercury.

Phoenix was the team to knock the Lynx out of the playoffs last season.

Game time is at 7 p.m. at the Target Center.

Holidazzle Changes

This year: There will be local food and drink vendors, artesian booths, entertainment and multiple firework shows.

Holidazzle starts on Nov. 27 and runs through Dec. 20.
