State Patrol: 3 Brothers Hurt In Western Wis. Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Three brothers were hurt Monday morning after being involved in a crash in western Wisconsin, authorities say.

The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Trempeleau County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at about 7:25 a.m. near the area of Lardahl Road and County Highway Y. When officers arrived, the driver of a Ford Econoline work van was heading northbound on Lardahl Road. The driver failed to yield at a stop sign at County Highway Y and was hit by a Dodge Caravan heading eastbound.

The crash site was in Eleva, Wis., about two hours southeast of the Twin Cities.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says three boys were inside the van and were headed to school at the time of the crash. They suffered non-life threatening injuries, but were taken to a hospital. Authorities said they were all wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

The names of the boys have not been released. According to the state patrol's incident report, a 16-year-old from Eleva, Wis., was the driver of the fan and the passengers were a 15-year-old boy and 10-year-old boy, also from Eleva, Wis.

The driver of the work van, a 63-year-old man from Mondovi, Wis., suffered non-life threatening injuries in the incident.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash with assistance from the Trempeleau County Sheriff's Office.
