MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One woman is dead after a stabbing in Northeast Minneapolis late Thursday night.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to a call shortly after 11 p.m. of a stabbing in an apartment building in the 2500 block of Central Avenue Northeast.

Upon arrival, police found a woman had been stabbed. She was declared dead on the scene.

Police took the man at the scene into custody.

Officers believe the two were in a relationship and are investigating this as a domestic incident.

Police say they will be reaching out to people in the area in the coming days to talk with neighbors about domestic violence.
