Sheriff: Body Found In Quarry At Stearns County Park Reserve

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are investigating after a body was found floating in a quarry Sunday morning at the Quarry Park Nature Reserve in Waite Park, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities responded to the area at about 11:20 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a body floating in the quarry. When emergency personnel arrived, they recovered the body of an adult male from the quarry.

Authorities said the remains have been sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for identification. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office said foul play is not suspected at this time, but the case is under investigation.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Waite Park Police and Fire Departments and the St. Cloud Fire Department.
