Prince Celebrates Lynx Win With Late-Night Paisley Park Jam

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Rock legend and noted basketball enthusiast Prince was in a "party like it's 1999" mood following the Minnesota Lynx's WNBA Championship win Wednesday evening.

The Lynx captured their third title in five years with a 69-52 victory over the Indiana Fever in Game 5, and it was their first time clinching the championship on their home turf.

Prince was in attendance at the game, and invited the team to Paisley Park for a celebration party.

Prince typically does not let people take pictures there, but the Star Tribune reported that the celebratory concert went on for hours as Lynx players danced the night away.

Unlike his recent concert given in the presence of Madonna, this time Prince didn't mainly restrict his setlist to new material. Instead, he gave the Lynx players a solid dose of classic jams. According to the Star Tribune, he performed "Let's Go Crazy," "Kiss," "When Doves Cry," and a few covers, including Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" and the Pointer Sisters' "Yes We Can Can."

The Lynx will continue celebrating their win with a championship parade down Hennepin Avenue Friday at 11:30 a.m., followed by a 12:15 p.m. rally inside Target Center.
