Sheriff: Lost Hikers Found On Trail Near Ely

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two Ohio women who went missing while hiking in northern Minnesota Monday night have been located, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

Authorites received a report at about 9:50 p.m. Monday of two lost hikers near the Angleworm Lake Trail off Echo Trail near Ely.

The two hikers, identified as 22-year-old Leanne Martin and 25-year-old Rachel Skrobot, had sent text messages to a friend asking for help because they were lost.

A crew with the St. Lous County Volunteer Rescue Squad was called, and they located the two women at about 1:10 a.m. Tuesday.

There were no injuries.
