Towns, Garnett Featured In Sports Illustrated's NBA Preview
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Sports Illustrated's NBA Preview hits newsstands on Wednesday, and two prominent members of the Minnesota Timberwolves will be featured on one of four regional covers.
The team's No. 1 overall pick from this year's NBA Draft, Karl-Anthony Towns out of Kentucky, graces the cover with legendary player Kevin Garnett. The Timberwolves drafted Towns after winning the NBA's draft lottery back in the summer.
Garnett was a legend with the Timberwolves, earning an MVP award and leading them to the Western Conference Finals in 2004. They have not been to the playoffs since. Garnett was traded back to Minnesota just before the deadline last year but saw limited action. He was brought in for his ability to lead an incredibly young team, and the hopes are that one day he'll be part of an ownership group.
The SI magazine featuring Towns and Garnett will be out Tuesday.
