MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A local group is asking Xcel Energy to pick up the pace of its community solar program.

The group says there have been months of delays and it’s worried Xcel will only let a few projects come online before federal tax credits expire.READ MORE: Saint Paul Regional Water Services Is Well-Equipped To Handle Heat And Drought
“By having all these continued delays, it leaves less and less times for the developers to get the solar gardens online,” said Alice Madden, with Community Power.

The federal tax incentive expires in December of 2016.
