Memorial Service Held Thursday For Bruce Dayton

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A memorial service will be held Thursday for family and friends of Governor Mark Dayton's father, Bruce.

The 97-year-old businessman and philanthropist died on Friday at his home in Long Lak surrounded by his family.

He's survived by his wife Ruth, four children including the governor, two step-children, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The service, held in celebration of his life, will be at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis at 4 p.m.

It is also open to members of the public that wish to say goodbye.
