Sheriff: Body Of Adult Male Found Near Monticello

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a body was found Sunday afternoon near Monticello in an area where they were searching for 24-year-old Tyler Berg.

The Wright County Sheriff's Office said the body of an adult male was found at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The body was found in a marsh south of Interstate 94 near Dalton Avenue. Authorities say the body was found by volunteers with United Legacy who were in the area searching for Berg.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy on the body for a cause of death and a positive identification.

Berg was last seen leaving his residence in St. Cloud last Sunday. Last Monday, Berg's black Mercury Cougar was found abandoned near Otter Creek Park in Monticello. Articles of clothing believed to be his were also discovered in Otter Creek Park and the Monticello Country Club golf course.

The case remains under investigation by the Wright County Sheriff's Office.
