St. Paul City Council Approves Resolution Aiming To Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- While world leaders are debating climate change issues in Paris, St. Paul city officials are taking a leading role in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
The city council voted Wednesday night to approve a resolution backed by mayors all over the world. Over the next three years, the city will conduct a greenhouse gas emission inventory and create an action plan with reduction goals.
Since 2009, St. Paul has completed 100 energy efficiency projects in 60 facilities. The city has reduced carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 5 million pounds.
