Police: Old Man Accused Of Abduction Attempt Was 'Looking For His Hat'
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — The Bloomington School District notified parents of an attempted abduction of a girl walking home from her bus stop. But, when police investigated they determined an elderly man looking for his lost hat meant no harm.
The man approached the elementary school student Wednesday, as well as others, while retracing a route he had walked earlier in search of his hat. The girl's father called police. Officers investigated and said the man was apologetic and understood the concerns he had caused.
Bloomington schools posted a follow-up notice on its Facebook page saying no one was in harm's way.
