Minn. Vikings Sign CB Melvin White To Reserve/Future Contract

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings have added a free agent cornerback to its team.

On Friday, the team announced that cornerback Melvin White has been signed to a reserve/future contract.

White, 25, was released by the Carolina Panthers in September 2015 with an injury settlement before joining the St. Louis Rams' practice squad for the 2015 season.

The 6-foot-1 Freeport, Texas native signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent after the 2013 NFL Draft. There, he played 30 games and earned 17 starts during the 2013 and 2014 seasons. During that time, he recorded 80 tackles, four passes defended, three interceptions and scored one touchdown.

Before the NFL, White played football for the Louisiana–Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns.
