$11M Needed To Repair MN Capitol Parking Ramp
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- State officials say they need nearly $11 million to repair a busy parking ramp near the Minnesota Capitol.
The cable supports of the Centennial Parking Ramp are deteriorating, so crews have been working to shore up concrete support beams.
Hundreds of parking spaces have been lost while the work has been underway.
Engineers say the structure as a whole is sound, but they say failing to make repairs to the 60-year-old ramp would be unsafe over time.
The Department of Administration is asking the legislature for money to make the needed repairs.
