More Than Half Of Dogs Rescued From Farm Have New Homes

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Animal Humane Society says that more than half of the 47 dogs that were rescued from a Carver County farm last month are now in new homes.

The dogs, including 24 puppies, had belonged to a homeowner who was evicted from his farm property in early January. The homeowner had refused to move his dogs and left them with nowhere to go and no one to take care of them.

The Animal Human Society says its investigators brought the dogs to the group's Golden Valley location, where they were prepared for adoption.

As of early February, 28 of the dogs have found new homes, and six are currently available for adoption.

Ten dogs remain in treatment and/or foster care.

The Humane Society says three of the rescued puppies died as a result of failing to thrive.
