Pope Francis Criticizes Trump, Suggests He's 'Not Christian'
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The South Carolina primary is just two days away. Republican Presidential candidates are hoping to sway voters from front-runner Donald Trump.
And one man not endorsing him is Pope Francis. The pope criticized Trump on Thursday for his pledge to build a wall on the U.S./Mexican border.
Pope Francis said, "A person who thinks only about building walls and not of building bridges is not Christian."
Trump responded Thursday morning, saying "A religious leader questioning a person's faith is disgraceful."
A new CBS News national poll shows Trump with a 2-to-1 advantage over Ted Cruz. Rounding out the top five is Rubio, John Kasich and Ben Carson.
For the Democrats, a new CNN poll shows Hillary Clinton with just a one point lead over Bernie Sanders ahead of the Nevada Caucuses.
