MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Saturday is going to be a #Top10WxDay, and most people are responding warmly to the news.

But warmth is just the problem at White Bear Lake, where the Art Shanty Projects that have been on display for the last few weeks must soon be removed from the ice.

Dawn Bentley, executive director of Art Shanty project, said that they are trying to determine when and how they can begin the process of manually removing the art shanties from the ice, since they aren’t able to use vehicles.

They are also looking into whether they will be allowed to display them on the beach along the lake. In the meantime, the display event is cancelled for at least Saturday and Sunday.

Minneapolis parks have also closed all ice rinks for the week.
