2 Officers Among 6 Injured In N. Minneapolis Car Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Six people are hurt, including two Minneapolis police officers, after a car crash in north Minneapolis Monday evening.

According to Minneapolis Police Department, shortly after 8 p.m. a squad car was acting in emergency mode responding to a medical call.

While traveling northbound on Fremont Avenue North toward 36th Avenue North, a second vehicle entered the intersection heading east on 36th Avenue North.

The two cars collided.

The crash resulted in the squad car being redirected into an apartment building.

The two officers suffered minor injuries, as did four of the seven people in the other car.

Police said failure to yield contributed to the crash. They also believe alcohol may have played a role.
