Fmr. Timberwolf Jason Collins Campaigns For Hillary Clinton

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Former Timberwolf Jason Collins was in Minneapolis today to meet with LGBT activists and drum up support for Hillary Clinton ahead of Tuesday's caucuses.

Collins made history in 2013 as the first openly gay athlete in North America's four recognized major team sports while he played for the Brooklyn Nets.

Collins went to school with Chelsea Clinton and shared personal stories about Hillary from his years of knowing the family.

He says the next election is very important to him.

"With regards to the LGBT community, some of the rights that have been extended, we want to keep the momentum going in the right direction, and I think Hillary will do that," Collins said.

Chelsea Clinton will spend tomorrow and Monday in Minnesota, encouraging Minnesotans to caucus for Hillary Clinton on Tuesday.
