MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The University of Minnesota men’s basketball team will be without three of its regular players Sunday night for a violation of team rules, coach Richard Pitino said.
Pitino announced that guards Kevin Dorsey, Nate Mason and Dupree McBrayer will not play Sunday night for the Gophers in Illinois. McBrayer and Mason have started for much of the season, and Dorsey has played a key role off the bench for Minnesota.
“With the privilege of being a member of the University of Minnesota basketball program there are expectations and standards to which we hold our student-athletes accountable, and they have failed to do so,” Pitino said in a statement.
