Bloomington Carjacking Leads To Chase, Arrest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Norwood Young America man is in police custody, accused of stealing a car, threatening the owner with a weapon, and fleeing officers in several jurisdictions.

Police say the incident began when the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Alexander Kawika Gryskiewicz, threatened a Bloomington driver in a neighborhood just off Bloomington Ferry Road at around 6:15 a.m. Monday. Police say Gryskiewicz pushed the driver out of the car and sped off.

The driver was unhurt, and called police, who were able to locate the stolen vehicle using OnStar. When officers attempted to pull the stolen 2015 GMC Terrain over near the intersection of County Road 18 and County Road 42 in Prior Lake, the suspect fled towards Burnsville.

Police say the chase ended when the suspect crashed near the intersection of Pike Lake Trail and Carriage Hills Parkway in Prior Lake.

Gryskiewicz is being held on several felony charges, including assault, robbery and fleeing police.
