Wilco, Kurt Vile To Play Hall's Island This Summer

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Chicago Americana rockers Wilco will return to the Twin Cities this summer to play along the Mississippi River in northeast Minneapolis.

First Avenue announced on Monday that the band will perform at Hall's Island on Aug. 20, which is a Saturday. Philadelphia psych-folk songwriter Kurt Vile will open.

Tickets for the show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. for $50. They can be bought online at First-Avenue.com or Etix.com.

Wilco's latest album, "Star Wars," saw a surprise release last July.

Last year, Hall's Island re-emerged as an outdoor concert venue with a show headlined by Alabama Shakes and Father John Misty.
