It’s the weekend of the release show! From a solo CD release at the Icehouse to a hip-hop/edm dual EP release show at the 7th Street Entry, here are the four shows to see for this weekend.
Branching out from her electro-pop band Moon & Pollution, Molly Dean is releasing something a bit more grounded in natural instrumentation, with chamber strings to light and lush vocals.
The album, called “The Natural Minor”, is collaboration with Dave Simonett of Trampled by Turtles.
Doors open at 9 p.m. with music starting at 9:30. dVRG redefined also joins the bill.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. It’s a 21-plus show.
Good Diction is celebrating its first release since 2013.
The new album, “Victory”, features “a ‘tangle’ of instrumental parts weaving and bobbing around each other as well as some of our most introspective songs to date.”
Also joining the bill is Johanna Mathews’ band HANK and a special guest opener, Dirty Romance Novels.

CJ Pitts is an R&B and Gospel singer who was born in Delaware but now calls St. Paul home.
After a half-decade of refining his craft, CJ Pitts is now set to release his debut EP, entitled “Lost Identity”.
Check it out at the Amsterdam Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.! DJ Advance also shares the bill.
Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 at the door. It’s an 18-plus show.
Local hip-hop producer/MC BatMN and EDM producer DJ Teddybear are releasing their debut EPs on the same night.
They collaborated with artists that include Greg Grease, K.Raydio, Kristoff Krane, and Medium Zach (Big Quarters).
The show is a result of Launched, an artist incubator program for emerging musicians, along with a partnership with Kulture Klub Collaborative, which is a arts-nonprofit for youth experiencing or transitioning out of homelessness.
