2 Teens Charged With Assault Of St. Paul High School Teacher

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two 16-year-old students face third-degree assault charges in connection with an attack on a St. Paul high school teacher Wednesday.

The Ramsey County Attorney's Office says the teens were caught on surveillance camera striking a teacher at Como Park Senior High School.

The criminal complaint says the teens went into a classroom to assault a student who had sold them marijuana.

When the teacher "lightly touched" the students to usher them out of the room, one punched the teacher on the chin and the other punched his right eye.

The teacher was taken to Region's Hospital, where he was treated for a mild concussion and a cut to his head, which required a staple to close.

This is the same school where Black Lives Matter St. Paul threatened to protest at two days earlier after a teacher posted a message to Facebook in which he complained about fights and drug dealing at the school.

Another 16-year-old St. Paul student was charged with assault in December after an attack on a high school teacher at Central High School.
