CDC: 6 Minnesotans Infected With Zika Virus
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The number of Minnesotans diagnosed with Zika virus is on the rise.
The Centers for Disease Control says six Minnesotans have contracted the mosquito-borne virus after traveling abroad.
There are now 193 total cases confirmed in the U.S.
Some 80 percent of people who get Zika don't show symptoms, but the virus has been linked to a rare birth defect which causes head and brain abnormalities.
The virus is spread through a tropical mosquito.
