Minnesota Hockey Legend Lou Nanne Opens Edina Steakhouse

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Lou Nanne is trying his hand at the restaurant business.

A new restaurant will carry the former Gopher, North Star and Olympic hockey player's name.

Lou Nanne's Steakhouse is located near 76th Street and France Avenue in Edina.

Tuesday was the first time hockey fans and restaurant-goers got to take it all in.

CEO Mike McDermott says he wants the restaurant to be a special place where people could feel comfortable bringing family and friends.

"We have steaks on the menu, but we don't say that we are a steakhouse," he said. "If you want to come in and celebrate on a Thursday Friday night and have a birthday dinner, you know you're going to have a good atmosphere, but if you want to come in and have a burger before you go to a movie, you can do that as well."

McDermott says he hopes Lou Nanne's becomes a place people go to have fun and enjoy good food.
