ME: Man Found In Savage Pond Died In Drowning

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 39-year-old man found in a Savage pond earlier this month died in a drowning, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

The body of 39-year-old Martise Windom was recovered from a holding pond behind a Target store in Savage on March 12. He had been reported missing back on Nov. 7, 2015. Prior to his disappearance, he was a youth basketball coach in Lakeville.

The medical examiner says Windom's cause of death is an apparent drowning, but his manner of death is undetermined. His body was found four months after he was reported missing.

The case remains under investigation.
