Police Seek Suspects In St. Paul Walgreens Robbery, Drug Theft

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- St. Paul police are looking for suspects after a large amount of prescription drugs were stolen from a Walgreens in a robbery on Monday.

Police say the incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. at the Highland Park location at 2099 Ford Parkway. Two men jumped the pharmacy counter and shoved an employee before demanding specific drugs.

Authorities say the employee opened locked cabinets and the suspects cleared them of Oxycontin, Oxycodone, Promethazine (which contains codeine) and Alprazolam (a generic Xanax) before going back over the counter and fleeing the store. No arrests have been made and police are looking for them.

One suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet tall with a scruffy beard. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, light pants and black leather driving gloves.

The other suspect is described as a black male about 5 feet, 8 inches or 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 250 pounds. Police say he had darker skin with a scruffy beard, goatee and was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.

Authorities are also investigating if the incident is connected to a similar robbery, which occurred at the Target pharmacy in Highland Park at 2080 Ford Parkway last November.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the St. Paul Police Department.
