MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are reportedly focusing on drugs as they investigate the death of Prince.
The Star Tribune reports that several sources have told them painkillers may have taken a toll on him in his final weeks.
That includes five days before he died, when his private plane made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois.
The Star Tribune report states after landing, Prince was given a shot of Narcan, the opioid antidote.
The paper also said the longtime attorney for two of Prince’s siblings said his clients told him more than a decade ago that Prince had “substantial” drug problems with painkillers.
The results of the autopsy could take weeks.
