Celebration Planned For Jamar Clark's Birthday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Friends and family of Jamar Clark plan to celebrate the life of the young man killed by Minneapolis police.
Tuesday marked Clark's birthday. He would have been 25.
Clark was killed in a struggle with police last November in north Minneapolis.
His family is throwing a community party Tuesday night at Harrison Neighborhood Park. There will be a potluck, games and live music through at least 9 p.m.
The family and others in the community say they will continue to fight for justice on Clark's behalf.
Earlier this year, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said there wasn't evidence to charge officers Dustin Schwarze and Mark Ringgenberg in Clark's death.
Both officers are back to work with the department.
