Judge Orders Release Of Prince's Blood Sample For Paternity Testing

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Carver County judge has authorized the release and analysis of Prince's blood in the event of paternity claims and other purposes.

Judge Kevin Eide approved the order Friday at the request of the special administrator of Prince's estate.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office is in possession of Prince's blood, and is now authorized to provide it to the DNA Diagnostics Center for testing.

The Carver County Sheriff's Office released records Tuesday that included two separate calls from women who claimed Prince was the father of their child. It is not clear if both calls were from the same woman.

Prince had one child with his first wife, Mayte Garcia, in 1996. The boy, named Boy Gregory, died just days after being born.
