MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — With just a couple weeks to go in the legislative session, a dog is helping break down party lines.
State Representative Peggy Bennett (R-District 27A) occasionally brings her dog, Colter, with her to the State Capitol.
“Bringing a dog to the Capitol like this actually makes it more human, you know, because you just relate on a different level where it doesn’t matter what party you’re from,” Bennett said. “He’s kind of generated his own fan club around here.”
He spends his days greeting visitors and making friends, including House Speaker Kurt Daudt.
Bennett says Colter loves to get treats, and he even ate an entire bowl of candy from her office — wrappers and all.
